School Makeover Project

Bonnicare Foundation School Makeover Project is one of our first initiatives. The project began in 2022, and to date, the foundation has been responsible for the payment of more than 60 students’ school fees cutting across primary, secondary and the University.

We have  provided educational materials to over 1,000 students and placed over 20 students on permanent sponsorship through the kind donations of their regular sponsors.

As part of the School Makeover Project, the foundation also focuses on completely transforming the appearance of school children who are in worse shape than their peers. The foundation targets school children from underprivileged homes who go to school barefoot, with torn sandals/ slippers, no uniforms, no school bags and writing material.

We provide them with a school complete package which includes a new pair of uniform, sandals, socks, school bags, books and writing materials. The first edition of the project was carried out in February 2022. One of the challenges of the project is funding.

The foundation’s primary and only source of funding is currently through donors on social media. The foundation’s goal for the project is to create a more standardized system of enrollment and donation for the project and to be able to pay the school fees of more than 5,000 school children in the next two (2) years.

In the last two (2) years, the foundation has visited the following schools in Igbo Imabana, Cross River State:

  • Community Primary School – ILIKE WARD  (Igbo Imabana Community, Abi LGA)
  • Community Primary School – MBOTI WARD (Igbo Imabana Community, Abi LGA)
  • Immaculate Conception Primary School – ITAKONGHOR WARD  (Igbo Imabana Community, Abi LGA)
  • Presbyterian Primary School – LEHANGHA WARD  (Igbo Imabana Community, Abi LGA)
  • Community Primary School – Ijoda (Ofodua Community, Obubra LGA)

Over 70 students received a school makeover package since its inception.
